ABOUT THE JOB
The Pharmacy Student assists with daily pharmacy operations under direct pharmacist supervision. Responsibilities include supporting prescription preparation, data entry, packaging, and helping ensure compliance with provincial regulations. This role also involves interacting with members, maintaining patient confidentiality, and contributing to a safe and organized pharmacy environment. Students may also participate in health-related initiatives and support medication review services as permitted by provincial guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with prescription order entry and ensure accurate information is recorded in the pharmacy system.
- Support the preparation, labeling, and packaging of prescriptions under pharmacist supervision.
- Answer and triage member phone calls, directing inquiries appropriately.
- Provide courteous assistance at the pharmacy counter and process register transactions when required.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow all provincial regulations and company procedures.
- Help manage and restock pharmacy inventory, including prescription and OTC products.
- Identify potential medication concerns and promptly refer them to the supervising pharmacist.
- Assist in implementing health promotion clinics and medication review programs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized pharmacy workspace.
- Support other warehouse areas as needed.
