ABOUT THE JOB
The Loss Prevention Clerk plays a key role in maintaining a safe and secure warehouse environment. This position is responsible for monitoring security risks, conducting investigations into suspected theft, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws. The role reports directly to warehouse leadership and works closely with management and, when necessary, local law enforcement authorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct regular warehouse and perimeter patrols to monitor safety and security conditions.
- Observe, detect, and help prevent shoplifting and internal theft incidents.
- Interview and, when appropriate, detain individuals in accordance with company policy and legal guidelines.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and documentation for management review.
- Identify potential shrink reduction opportunities and report findings to leadership.
- Collect and maintain evidence for investigations and possible prosecution.
- Testify in court regarding investigations when required.
- Ensure compliance with Costco policies and applicable provincial and federal laws.
- Support and educate warehouse staff on loss prevention procedures and safety practices.
