ABOUT THE JOB
The Cashier Assistant plays an essential role in delivering excellent member service at Costco. You will help pack orders, transfer items efficiently, retrieve carts, maintain cleanliness in the front-end area, and support cashiers during busy periods. This position requires attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet members warmly and assist with placing items on the conveyor belt while providing courteous customer service.
- Pack purchases into boxes and transfer items to carts or flatbeds following safety procedures.
- Assist members with loading purchases into their vehicles when appropriate.
- Run for additional merchandise or perform price checks as requested by cashiers.
- Maintain cleanliness in the register area and respond promptly to spills or hazards.
- Retrieve shopping carts from the parking lot and ensure the entrance area remains clear and organized.
- Support opening and closing procedures, including returning products, collecting paperwork, and restocking supplies.
- Operate equipment such as cardboard balers in accordance with safety guidelines.
- Provide assistance during store promotions and peak shopping periods.
