Costco is hiring a Meat Cutter in Brampton, Ontario. This hands-on role focuses on preparing fresh meat for sale while delivering excellent member service, maintaining strict food safety standards, and keeping the department organized and production-ready.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Meat Cutter at Costco in Brampton, you will cut, trim, and prepare raw meat products according to Costco specifications using professional equipment. You’ll support daily production by rotating inventory, maintaining clean and safe work areas, and following established procedures for sanitation, temperature control, and safe equipment operation. This role is ideal for candidates with proven meat cutting experience who can work efficiently in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cut, trim, and prepare raw meat for sale using tools such as band saws, knives, grinders, tenderizers, roast-tying equipment, and automatic slicers.
- Inspect and reassemble sanitized equipment and prepare the department for daily production needs.
- Receive, scan, and rotate meat inventory in the cooler; rework product as needed and dispose of product according to procedures.
- Move cases of meat (up to approximately 80 lbs) from the cooler to the cutting or preparation area safely.
- Operate the meat grinder, monitor output quality, and follow established production and batch-check processes.
- Transfer cut and ground meat to trays, assist with wrapping, and stock the meat case based on merchandising plans.
- Clean and sanitize the work area throughout the day, following health code requirements, temperature controls, and sanitation procedures.
- Perform routine maintenance for machinery, equipment, and tools used in the department.
- Support special department activities (such as road show setup) when required.
- Provide prompt, friendly, and professional member service at all times.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
