Costco is hiring a Food Service Assistant for the Food Court in Brampton, Ontario. This fast-paced role supports daily food preparation, customer service, and cleanliness while helping deliver a great experience for Costco members.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Food Service Assistant at Costco, you will help prepare and serve popular food court items while providing prompt, friendly service to members. You’ll support food preparation, operate kitchen equipment, handle cash and order processing, restock supplies, and maintain a clean and safe work area. This role requires attention to detail, strong teamwork, and a commitment to following food safety and sanitation standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare hot food items (such as pizzas, hot dogs, and baked products) using approved food preparation procedures.
- Operate food court equipment safely (e.g., ovens, warmers, and deep fryers) and handle hot items using proper tools.
- Take member orders at the counter and by phone, process transactions, and follow cash handling procedures.
- Assemble, present, and serve orders efficiently while delivering excellent member service.
- Dispense desserts and beverages (e.g., frozen yogurt, smoothies, specialty drinks), and clean/refill dispensing machines.
- Maintain the self-serve area, including tables, condiment stations, and dining space; bus tables and dispose of trash.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, tools, pans, utensils, counters, and floors according to sanitation standards.
- Support inventory flow by pulling ingredients from the warehouse and restocking coolers/freezers as needed.
- Follow health and safety requirements, including temperature controls, product rotation, and expiry date checks.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
