Costco is hiring a Baker in Vancouver, BC. In this role, you’ll help produce fresh, high-volume baked goods by following standardized recipes and processes—supporting daily bakery production while maintaining strong food safety and quality standards.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Baker position at Costco focuses on preparing and baking a variety of bakery items in large quantities using established formulas. You will handle industrial-sized ingredients, operate bakery equipment (including large mixers), and monitor ovens to ensure products are baked consistently.
This role is ideal for candidates with bakery experience who can work efficiently in a production environment while following sanitation, temperature controls, and safe equipment procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure, assemble, and combine ingredients in large batches following Costco formulas.
- Adjust recipes for alternate yields using appropriate calculations.
- Operate bakery equipment such as mixers and other production tools used in dough and batter preparation.
- Prepare batters, frostings, and fillings for baked goods as required.
- Roll, cut, and shape dough for breads and pastries, and transfer items to proofing/raising areas.
- Bake products in large ovens, monitor bake quality, and move finished items to cooling racks.
- Maintain sanitation standards, monitor temperatures, and follow food safety and health-code requirements.
- Follow department production procedures to ensure consistent quality and presentation.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service when needed.
- Assist with other bakery and warehouse duties as required.
