ABOUT THE JOB
The Cake Decorator is responsible for preparing, frosting, decorating, and packaging cakes according to company standards. This role involves working with bakery equipment, following established production procedures, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. The position requires attention to detail, creativity in decorative finishes, and adherence to food safety and quality standards.
You will collaborate with bakery team members to fulfill special orders, maintain display stock, and ensure every finished product meets Costco’s expectations for freshness and visual appeal.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Frost and decorate cakes using spatulas, pastry bags, and decorative techniques according to company formulas.
- Prepare cake layers, apply fillings, and finish products to ensure consistent quality and appearance.
- Follow food safety procedures and maintain sanitation standards within the bakery area.
- Interpret special orders and customize decorations based on member requests.
- Package finished products and prepare items for display or storage.
- Operate bakery tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
- Provide courteous and professional member service when assisting with bakery inquiries.
- Support other bakery and warehouse tasks as required.
