ABOUT THE JOB
The Meat Assistant plays a key role in ensuring the meat department operates smoothly and efficiently. Responsibilities include preparing products for sale using wrapping equipment, stocking display cases, and assisting with product rotation. The role also involves maintaining sanitation standards, operating meat grinders when required, and supporting department operations in line with Costco’s food safety and quality guidelines.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wrap and label meat products using automatic wrapping machines.
- Stock and rotate products in refrigerated display cases to maintain freshness.
- Operate department equipment such as meat grinders following safety procedures.
- Inspect and reassemble sanitized equipment before daily operations.
- Maintain proper sanitation and temperature control standards throughout the shift.
- Assist with loading trays, organizing racks, and preparing products for display.
- Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance of tools and machinery.
- Deliver prompt and courteous member service.
- Support other warehouse departments as operational needs require.
