ABOUT THE JOB
The Meat Assistant works as part of the warehouse meat department team, helping prepare and package products for sale. Responsibilities include operating wrapping equipment, stocking display cases, maintaining sanitation standards, and ensuring products meet established quality guidelines. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to food safety regulations, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wrap and label meat products using automatic wrapping machines and approved procedures.
- Stock and rotate products in refrigerated display cases to maintain freshness and presentation.
- Operate department equipment such as meat grinders and related tools following safety guidelines.
- Monitor product quality and ensure compliance with department standards and health regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, tools, and equipment throughout the shift.
- Assist with product preparation and ensure accurate labeling and pricing.
- Provide courteous and prompt member service when assisting customers.
- Support other warehouse areas as required.
