Costco is looking for a Maintenance Assistant in Montréal, QC. In this role, you’ll help keep the facility clean, safe, and well-maintained by supporting daily janitorial services, assisting with basic upkeep tasks, and ensuring work areas meet Costco’s high standards.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Maintenance Assistant helps maintain a clean and secure environment by performing routine cleaning and upkeep tasks across the facility. You will operate equipment such as floor scrubbers and compactors, respond to spills, restock supplies, and support basic grounds and seasonal maintenance. This position requires reliability, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to safety and cleanliness standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow daily schedules to complete routine cleaning tasks across assigned areas.
- Clean floors in offices, break rooms, restrooms, and production areas using appropriate equipment.
- Operate trash and cardboard compactors and remove waste from designated areas.
- Respond quickly to spills and cleanup needs to maintain a safe environment.
- Perform detailed cleaning such as washing windows, upper walls/ceilings, and maintaining light fixtures.
- Support grounds upkeep (as needed), including litter removal, leaf cleanup, and basic exterior checks.
- Assist with seasonal duties such as snow and ice removal when required.
- Monitor, restock, and organize cleaning supplies and place items in the appropriate department.
- Follow established safety and security procedures and provide courteous service to members and staff.
