ABOUT THE JOB
As a Self Checkout Attendant at Walmart, you will guide customers through self-service transactions, respond quickly when assistance is needed, and help prevent issues that slow down the checkout process. You’ll keep the area tidy, support store initiatives when appropriate, and complete required logs and quality checks. This position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to stay calm in a fast-paced environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide friendly customer service by assisting shoppers using self-checkout registers.
- Keep the self-checkout area clean and organized, free of debris, spills, and hazards.
- Educate customers on efficient use of self-service checkout options when appropriate.
- Monitor customer activity to identify when support or intervention is needed.
- Perform required quality checks and explain interventions clearly and respectfully.
- Complete required documentation, including logs related to self-checkout systems.
- Escalate issues to the appropriate supervisor when registers are low on cash or technical help is needed.
- Return Scan & Go scanners to their proper location after use.
