ABOUT THE JOB
As a Baker at Costco, you will prepare and bake large quantities of bakery products following established formulas and production standards. This position involves measuring and mixing ingredients, shaping dough, operating industrial bakery equipment, and monitoring ovens to ensure products meet quality and food safety standards. You’ll also contribute to a clean, organized work environment while supporting excellent member service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure, assemble, and combine large-scale ingredients according to Costco formulas and production requirements.
- Operate commercial bakery equipment such as mixers, dough rollers, and depositors to prepare dough, batters, frostings, and fillings.
- Shape, roll, and cut dough for breads and pastries, and transfer products for proofing as needed.
- Bake products in large ovens, monitor bake times, and move finished goods to cooling racks at the appropriate time.
- Monitor and record sanitation and food safety practices, including temperatures, product rotation, and pull dates.
- Follow department procedures and standards to ensure consistent quality of finished bakery items.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and assist with other bakery tasks as required.
- Support other warehouse departments when needed.
