ABOUT THE JOB
As a Self Checkout Attendant at Walmart, you’ll support customers using self-service registers by providing guidance, answering questions, and helping resolve common checkout issues. You’ll help maintain a clean and safe checkout zone, complete required quality checks, and escalate concerns to the appropriate supervisor when needed. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Keep the self-checkout area clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Assist customers with self-service checkout and provide clear guidance when needed.
- Educate shoppers on efficient use of self-checkout options, when applicable.
- Observe customer activity to determine when assistance is required.
- Perform quality checks and support self-checkout interventions while maintaining a positive customer experience.
- Follow internal procedures for store protection tasks, including responding appropriately to alerts or logs.
- Notify the appropriate manager if the self-checkout area is low on cash, supplies, or has a technical issue.
- Support related tasks such as returning equipment (e.g., Scan and Go scanners) to the proper location after use.
