ABOUT THE JOB
The Loss Prevention Clerk plays a critical role in protecting company assets by monitoring store activity, identifying theft or safety concerns, and following established procedures to address incidents. This role requires strong observation skills, professionalism, and the ability to follow legal and company guidelines while working closely with management and, when required, local authorities.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the warehouse floor and perimeter to identify security and safety risks.
- Observe, detect, and help prevent shoplifting and internal theft.
- Detain and interview suspected individuals when warranted and in accordance with procedures.
- Prepare detailed incident and investigation reports for internal use.
- Maintain and organize evidence and investigation records.
- Report potential internal dishonesty and loss concerns to warehouse management.
- Identify and report shrink reduction opportunities to management.
- Testify in court when required regarding theft investigations.
- Maintain knowledge of Costco policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
- Communicate with other Loss Prevention team members regarding trends and threats.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
