Costco is looking for a reliable Cashier Assistant to support front-end operations in Calgary, Alberta. This role helps deliver excellent member service by assisting cashiers, packing orders efficiently, and keeping the checkout area organized and safe.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cashier Assistant at Costco, you will help ensure a smooth checkout experience by packing member purchases, moving items efficiently, and supporting daily front-end tasks. You may also assist with cart retrieval, area clean-up, and restocking supplies to keep operations running efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety and member satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide friendly, prompt member service by greeting members and assisting at the front end.
- Pack member orders into boxes and transfer items to carts or flatbeds for cashiers.
- Assist members with loading purchases when needed and follow packaging and safety procedures.
- Run for items such as boxes, supplies, and merchandise to help keep lines moving.
- Maintain cleanliness of the register area and address spills or trip hazards immediately.
- Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking area and keep entry areas tidy and organized.
- Support department tasks such as returns support, stocking supplies, and general front-end organization.
- Operate equipment such as trash compactors or cardboard balers, following safety guidelines (as assigned).
- Assist in other areas of the warehouse as needed.
