Costco is hiring a Maintenance Assistant to support daily facility upkeep in Calgary, AB. In this role, you’ll help keep key areas clean and safe by providing janitorial services, handling waste and recycling, maintaining supplies, and assisting with general maintenance tasks while delivering excellent service in a professional environment.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Maintenance Assistant at Costco, you will help maintain a clean, organized, and safe workplace by performing routine cleaning, operating related equipment, and supporting general upkeep across the facility. The position includes floor care, waste handling, restocking cleaning supplies, and assisting with light maintenance and seasonal tasks, following established safety and security procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily cleaning and janitorial duties across offices, restrooms, break rooms, and production areas.
- Clean and maintain floors, including operating floor-care equipment and changing scrubber water as needed.
- Empty waste from designated areas and operate trash and cardboard compactors following procedures.
- Respond quickly to spills and maintain a safe, tidy environment throughout the day.
- Clean windows, upper areas, ceilings, and other hard-to-reach surfaces using safe methods.
- Support grounds maintenance tasks such as litter pickup, leaf blowing, and assisting with snow/ice removal when required.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and place items in the appropriate department areas.
- Assist with basic facility upkeep such as minor repairs, painting support, and concrete floor touch-ups as needed.
- Provide prompt and courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers.
