Costco is hiring a Member Service Assistant in Vancouver, BC. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping people, maintaining a safe environment, and delivering outstanding member service while supporting warehouse entry/exit operations.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Member Service Assistant at Costco, you’ll be one of the first points of contact for members—welcoming them at the entrance, verifying membership, and supporting smooth traffic flow in and out of the warehouse. You’ll also help with safety and security checks, receipt verification at exit, and general support tasks that keep the front end running efficiently. A valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle are required for certain security-related duties.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet members at entry, verify membership cards, and maintain a friendly, professional presence.
- Conduct routine safety and security checks around the warehouse, identifying issues such as spills, trip hazards, or blocked exits.
- Complete inspection forms and report findings to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
- Track entry counts using a handheld counter and report counts as required.
- Support secure warehouse operations by monitoring access and observing scheduled cash/armored pick-ups when applicable.
- Verify receipts at exit by checking accuracy and comparing receipts to merchandise, then thank members as they leave.
- Provide prompt and courteous member assistance, including directions to departments or service areas.
- Assist with related tasks such as retrieving carts, helping with loading, and supporting other warehouse areas as needed.
- Use a 2-way radio to communicate updates, report suspicious activity, and follow established procedures.
