This role is designed for students enrolled in an approved pharmacy program who are looking to gain hands-on experience in prescription processing, patient support, and pharmacy operations under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacy Student at Costco, you will assist with daily pharmacy operations while developing practical skills in a professional healthcare setting. Working under the direct supervision of a pharmacist, you will support prescription distribution, patient education, and health promotion initiatives, all while following strict regulatory and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with prescription data entry, packaging, labeling, and preparation under pharmacist supervision.
- Collect patient information and process prescriptions accurately using pharmacy software systems.
- Support pharmacists in identifying drug interactions and addressing patient concerns.
- Provide prompt and courteous patient service at the pharmacy counter.
- Communicate with patients regarding OTC products and refer clinical questions to the pharmacist as required.
- Assist with medication reviews, health promotion clinics, and patient education initiatives.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all provincial pharmacy regulations.
- Help stock medications, supplies, and OTC merchandise.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and professional pharmacy environment.
