ABOUT THE JOB
As a Pharmacist at Costco, you will dispense prescription medications and provide professional guidance to patients on proper use. You’ll assess prescriptions for therapeutic appropriateness, monitor for interactions, and support medication management services within the scope permitted by provincial regulations. This position also involves maintaining accurate records, collaborating with other health professionals, and promoting a culture of patient safety and continuous improvement.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Dispense prescription medications and apply appropriate labels and documentation.
- Review prescriptions and OTC therapies for therapeutic appropriateness, interactions, allergies, and dosing.
- Verify prescriptions and refills, including taking verbal prescriptions when permitted.
- Provide patient counselling on medication use and answer questions while maintaining confidentiality.
- Support medication reviews, wellness services, and clinical interventions within provincial scope.
- Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and pharmacy documentation.
- Collaborate with health care professionals to resolve drug therapy concerns when needed.
- Participate in safety practices, incident reporting, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Support pharmacy operations and act as Pharmacist-in-Charge when required.
