Costco is hiring an Optical Student in Calgary, AB. In this customer-facing role, you’ll support the Optical department by helping members choose frames and lens options, processing orders, and assisting with eyewear fittings while maintaining excellent service and department standards.
ABOUT THE JOB
As an Optical Student at Costco, you will assist members throughout the eyewear purchasing process, from selecting frames to order pick-up. You’ll help with point-of-sale transactions, manage orders and supplies, and keep the department organized and clean. Where permitted by provincial law and under supervision, you may also help with basic adjustments and fitting of eyeglasses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members in selecting eyeglass frames and understanding lens options while providing prompt, courteous service.
- Process optical orders and over-the-counter merchandise, including accurate payments, change, and proper paperwork handling.
- Where permitted and under supervision, fit and adjust eyeglasses using a frame warmer and basic hand adjustments.
- Order and receive equipment, merchandise, and supplies using computer systems while following safety and security procedures.
- Stock and organize merchandise and supplies, following department procedures for record keeping, storage, and product handling.
- Maintain department cleanliness through daily sanitation, including wiping, mopping, and keeping work areas tidy.
- Support warehouse operations by assisting in other areas when needed.
