ABOUT THE JOB
As a Member Service Assistant at Costco, you’ll be one of the first and last points of contact for members—greeting them at the entrance, verifying membership cards, managing entry counts, and checking receipts at exit. You’ll also support warehouse operations by completing safety and security checks, assisting members with questions or directions, and helping keep the front-end area organized and welcoming. Some duties may require conducting perimeter checks, including using a personal vehicle where applicable.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide a friendly welcome by greeting members, verifying membership cards, and supporting smooth warehouse entry.
- Maintain accurate entry counts and assist with front-end flow, including keeping entrance/exit areas clean and orderly.
- Perform receipt checks at exit, thank members, and help ensure accuracy and loss prevention procedures are followed.
- Complete regular warehouse safety and security checks, identifying and reporting issues such as spills, trip hazards, and blocked exits.
- Use handheld tools to count and record member traffic and report results as required.
- Monitor warehouse access and report suspicious activity or security concerns to supervisors according to procedures.
- Assist members with directions, carts, and general support to deliver excellent member service.
- Support closing routines and, when required, help with after-hours area monitoring and perimeter checks (may include using a personal vehicle).
- Help in other warehouse areas as needed to support daily operations.
