Costco is hiring a Meat Assistant in Laval, QC. This role supports the meat department by wrapping and labeling products, stocking display cases, and helping maintain high standards of food safety, cleanliness, and member service.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Meat Assistant at Costco, you will help prepare meat products for sale by operating wrapping equipment, setting labels accurately, and keeping the meat case stocked and organized. You’ll also assist with basic equipment setup, sanitation, and temperature-related practices to ensure product quality and compliance with health standards. Food Safety Certification Level 1 is required on the first day in the position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Wrap and label meat products using an automatic wrapping machine and approved procedures.
- Inspect and reassemble sanitized equipment and support display case readiness for daily operations.
- Load packaged meat onto racks and feed items into the wrapping machine while following safety procedures.
- Set labels accurately by product type and price, ensuring correct information is applied.
- Stock display cases by moving racks and placing wrapped products efficiently for member access.
- Operate the meat grinder, check grind consistency, and follow production standards for quality.
- Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment throughout the day, following health code and sanitation standards.
- Support proper temperature controls and safe handling practices to protect product quality.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service and assist other warehouse areas when needed.
