ABOUT THE JOB
As a Maintenance Assistant at Costco, you will help maintain cleanliness and overall appearance across designated facility areas, supporting safe operations and a positive experience for members and employees. You’ll complete routine cleaning tasks, respond to spills, handle waste and recycling, and assist with light maintenance while following Costco’s safety and security procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complete routine janitorial duties across offices, break rooms, restrooms, production areas, and other facility spaces.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, and change scrubber water as needed.
- Empty trash and recycling from designated areas and operate trash and cardboard compactors.
- Respond quickly to spills and cleanups, helping maintain a safe and tidy environment.
- Perform periodic cleaning tasks such as washing windows, upper walls, and ceilings, and vacuuming rafters when required.
- Assist with facility upkeep tasks such as replacing light bulbs and monitoring light fixtures.
- Support grounds maintenance when needed, including picking up litter and seasonal tasks such as snow and ice removal.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies, and place received supplies in the appropriate department.
- Follow all general safety and security procedures and assist other areas as required.
