Costco is hiring a Maintenance Assistant in Kitchener, ON. This position supports facility upkeep by performing janitorial services, minor repairs, and general maintenance tasks to ensure a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for employees and members.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Maintenance Assistant at Costco, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and supporting building maintenance operations across the facility, including specialized areas such as the Optical Lab. The role includes cleaning, operating compactors, assisting with grounds maintenance, and following all company safety and security procedures. A valid driver’s license is required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily cleaning and janitorial tasks in offices, restrooms, production areas, and common spaces.
- Operate trash and cardboard compactors safely and efficiently.
- Respond promptly to spills and maintain safe walking surfaces.
- Replace light bulbs, clean fixtures, wash windows and walls, and vacuum rafters as needed.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, including snow and ice removal, litter pickup, and basic landscaping support.
- Support minor facility repairs such as painting and concrete floor touch-ups.
- Monitor and restock cleaning supplies and coordinate inventory when necessary.
- Follow established health, safety, and security standards at all times.
- Provide courteous service to members, employees, and suppliers when required.
