ABOUT THE JOB
The Loss Prevention Clerk at Costco is responsible for monitoring warehouse activity to help prevent theft, identify safety concerns, and support investigations when incidents occur. Working closely with management and, when required, local authorities, this position contributes to maintaining a secure and well-organized warehouse environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the warehouse floor and perimeter to identify safety and security concerns.
- Observe, detect, and help prevent shoplifting and other loss-related incidents.
- Assist in detaining and interviewing individuals when necessary, following company procedures.
- Report suspected internal theft or dishonesty to warehouse and regional management.
- Prepare and maintain investigation reports and evidence files.
- Support shrink reduction initiatives by identifying risk areas within operations.
- Testify in court when required regarding theft investigations.
- Communicate with other Loss Prevention teams to share information on local theft trends.
- Provide guidance and training on loss prevention policies to warehouse staff.
