ABOUT THE JOB
As a Food Service Assistant at Costco, you will help prepare and serve food and beverages while keeping the food court area clean, organized, and well-stocked. You’ll support daily operations by handling food preparation, working at the counter, maintaining sanitation standards, and assisting with inventory and restocking to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and serve hot food items such as pizzas and hot dogs, and place baked items in warmers as needed.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, deep fryers, and other food service tools.
- Assist with cash handling, ringing up sales, collecting payments, and processing orders at the counter or by phone.
- Dispense desserts and beverages (such as frozen yogurt and specialty drinks) and clean and refill dispensing machines.
- Maintain the self-serve and dining areas by bussing tables, sweeping and mopping floors, and emptying trash.
- Clean and sanitize work surfaces, utensils, equipment, and counters while following food safety guidelines.
- Pull and stock supplies and ingredients, including moving items to shelves, coolers, and freezers, and staging ingredients for prep.
- Follow health and safety procedures, including temperature checks, sanitation routines, product rotation, and expiry controls.
