ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cashier at Walmart, you’ll be responsible for operating the register, handling transactions efficiently, and supporting customers during the checkout process. This role also involves following company procedures for cash handling, maintaining a safe and clean work area, and promoting store programs when appropriate. Attention to detail and a positive attitude are important for success in this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet customers in a polite and friendly manner and provide support throughout checkout.
- Process transactions accurately and efficiently, including steps required under the EAS program when applicable.
- Promote Walmart programs and services, such as credit card options, product protection, or community initiatives when appropriate.
- Assist customers with bagging and loading merchandise while maintaining service standards.
- Follow safe work practices, including proper lifting and keeping a clean workstation.
- Maintain register security and integrity through careful cash handling and adherence to policies.
- Escalate transactional or customer service concerns to the appropriate leader, such as the Customer Service Manager, when needed.
