ABOUT THE JOB
The Cashier Assistant supports daily front-end operations by assisting members at checkout, packing items efficiently, and ensuring merchandise moves smoothly through the registers. This position focuses on teamwork, safety, and providing a consistently high level of member service in a fast-paced retail environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist members at checkout by packing items and loading orders onto the conveyor belt.
- Provide courteous and prompt service, answering questions and supporting promotional activities.
- Transfer merchandise to carts or flatbeds while following safety and security procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the register and front-end areas, addressing spills or hazards immediately.
- Retrieve carts and flatbeds from the parking area and keep entrances clear of debris.
- Support cashiers by running for merchandise, supplies, or item numbers as needed.
- Assist with opening and closing tasks, including returning products and stocking supplies.
- Operate equipment such as cardboard balers or trash compactors when required.
