ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cashier Assistant at Costco, you will work closely with cashiers to ensure a smooth checkout experience for members. Responsibilities include packing orders, assisting members with loading purchases, maintaining cleanliness in the front-end area, and supporting daily warehouse operations while following safety and service standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Greet members and provide prompt, courteous service at all times.
- Pack member orders into boxes and transfer items to a separate cart for checkout.
- Assist members with loading purchases into carts or vehicles when required.
- Run for items such as merchandise, boxes, and register supplies to support cashiers.
- Transfer items not on the conveyor belt to a separate cart as cashiers scan them.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the register and front-end areas.
- Retrieve shopping carts and flatbeds from parking areas, keeping entrances clear.
- Perform front-end setup and closing tasks, including restocking and cleaning.
- Operate equipment such as cardboard balers or trash compactors when trained.
- Support cashier operations during promotions and peak periods.
- Assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
