ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cashier Assistant at Costco, you will help cashiers by packing items into boxes, transferring items to carts, and assisting with carry-out support when needed. You’ll also perform light clean-up, cart retrieval, and merchandise runs to ensure the front end runs smoothly. This position requires attention to detail, safe handling procedures, and a strong focus on member satisfaction. In Quebec locations, candidates are typically expected to communicate in French (oral and written).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Pack member orders into boxes and transfer items to carts efficiently.
- Assist members at the register, including helping load items onto the conveyor belt.
- Support cashiers by running for items (e.g., boxes, supplies) to keep lines moving.
- Maintain a clean and organized register area and respond quickly to spills or hazards.
- Retrieve carts and flatbeds and keep entry areas clear of debris.
- Perform merchandise restocking and front-end support tasks as directed.
- Follow safety and security procedures while handling merchandise and equipment.
- Assist with department opening/closing tasks and support promotions when needed.
