ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cake Decorator at Costco, you will be responsible for frosting, filling, decorating, and packaging cakes for daily sales and special orders. The position involves using pastry bags, spatulas, and decorating tools to create visually appealing products that meet Costco’s quality, consistency, and food safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Slice and prepare cakes using hand tools or slicing equipment.
- Fill, frost, and decorate cakes using spatulas, pastry bags, and decorating tips.
- Create borders, designs, and written messages following Costco decorating standards.
- Read and complete special cake orders, including custom designs and personalized messages.
- Prepare cheesecakes and apply toppings according to established formulas.
- Use whipping cream machines and other bakery equipment safely.
- Slice fresh fruit for cake decoration and finishing.
- Assemble cake boxes, package finished products, and move items using wheeled racks.
- Maintain a clean and organized decorating area, following safety and sanitation procedures.
- Provide prompt and courteous member service.
- Assist with other bakery or warehouse duties as needed.
