ABOUT THE JOB
As a Cake Decorator at Costco, you will be responsible for preparing, decorating, and finishing cakes for both sales stock and special orders. The position focuses on maintaining high standards of quality, consistency, and presentation while following established bakery and food safety procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Slice and prepare cake layers using appropriate tools and equipment.
- Apply fillings between layers and frost cakes using a spatula.
- Decorate cakes using pastry bags and tips, creating borders, designs, and written messages.
- Interpret member orders to ensure accurate flavors, colors, and personalized decorations.
- Prepare cheesecakes and apply toppings according to Costco formulas.
- Use whipping cream machines and other bakery equipment safely.
- Slice fresh fruit for application to baked products.
- Box finished cakes, place products on wheeled racks, and transfer items to appropriate areas.
- Maintain a clean and organized decorating area and follow safety procedures.
- Assist with other bakery duties and provide prompt, courteous member service.
