Costco is hiring a Baker in Calgary, AB. This role is ideal for experienced bakery professionals who enjoy producing high-volume baked goods while following strict quality, food safety, and consistency standards in a fast-paced warehouse bakery.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Baker at Costco, you will prepare and bake large quantities of bakery products using established formulas and production procedures. You’ll handle industrial-sized ingredients, operate commercial bakery equipment, and monitor ovens to ensure products meet quality and food safety expectations. This position requires attention to detail, safe work habits, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining a clean and organized production area.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Measure, assemble, and combine large quantities of ingredients according to Costco formulas, adjusting yields as needed.
- Use commercial equipment to mix and prepare bakery products, including operating a large power mixer.
- Operate bakery tools and machines used for production, such as a dough roller and other preparation equipment.
- Roll, cut, and shape dough for breads and pastries, and transfer products to appropriate proofing/raising areas.
- Bake products in large ovens, monitor bake times, and move finished items to cooling racks at the right time.
- Monitor sanitation, temperatures, and pull dates, ensuring compliance with health code and department standards.
- Follow established production procedures to maintain consistency and high-quality finished products.
- Provide prompt, courteous member service when needed and support the bakery team with additional duties.
- Assist in other warehouse or bakery areas as required.
