Costco is hiring a Loss Prevention Clerk in Laval, QC. This role helps protect warehouse assets by monitoring activity, supporting investigations, and identifying safety and security risks—while maintaining professional standards and a positive member experience.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Loss Prevention Clerk at Costco, you will help prevent internal and external loss by observing activity on the floor and around the building, reporting concerns, and assisting with investigations when required. You will complete accurate documentation, maintain evidence and report files, and communicate with management and external partners as needed. This position requires strong judgment, attention to detail, and knowledge of applicable procedures and laws.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor the warehouse and perimeter to identify potential theft, safety risks, and security concerns.
- Observe, detect, and report suspicious activity and possible internal dishonesty following established procedures.
- Support investigations by gathering details, completing documentation, and maintaining case files and evidence records.
- When warranted and within policy, assist with detaining and interviewing suspects and completing incident reports.
- Prepare clear written reports for internal use and, when applicable, for potential prosecution.
- Coordinate with local law enforcement when required and provide information in accordance with policy.
- Identify opportunities to reduce shrink and communicate recommendations to management.
- Attend meetings and training related to loss prevention, safety, and compliance.
- Teach and coach warehouse employees on loss prevention awareness and procedures.
- Share information with other Costco locations and teams regarding current or local theft trends.
