Costco is currently hiring a Maintenance Assistant to support daily cleaning and upkeep operations at its Surrey, BC location. This role plays a key part in maintaining a safe, clean, and efficient environment across the facility, supporting both employees and operational areas.
ABOUT THE JOB
The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for providing janitorial services and general facility upkeep within the Optical Lab and surrounding areas. This position ensures company standards are met through routine cleaning, waste handling, light maintenance tasks, and adherence to safety and security procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform daily cleaning and janitorial duties across offices, restrooms, break rooms, and production areas.
- Operate trash and cardboard compactors and dispose of waste from designated areas.
- Maintain floors by scrubbing, vacuuming, and responding promptly to spills and clean-up needs.
- Assist with grounds maintenance, including litter removal, leaf blowing, and seasonal snow or ice removal.
- Clean light fixtures, windows, walls, ceilings, and other facility surfaces as required.
- Restock cleaning supplies and monitor inventory levels.
- Support minor maintenance tasks such as painting and concrete floor repairs.
- Follow all Costco safety, security, and operational standards.
- Provide courteous assistance to employees, members, and suppliers when needed.
