ABOUT THE JOB

The Loss Prevention Clerk plays a key role in safeguarding Costco’s operations by monitoring store activity, identifying potential risks, and supporting investigations when required. This position involves close collaboration with management and, when necessary, local law enforcement, while ensuring all actions comply with company policies and applicable laws.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Monitor warehouse and perimeter areas to identify safety and security concerns.
  • Observe, detect, and prevent theft, including apprehending shoplifters when appropriate.
  • Conduct interviews and investigations related to suspected theft or internal dishonesty.
  • Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate investigation records.
  • Report findings to warehouse management and regional loss prevention teams.
  • Testify in court when required regarding investigations.
  • Educate warehouse staff on loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Assist in other warehouse areas as needed.
